Escapee from Eastern State mental hospital found & arrested on new charges
Virginia State Police found and arrested the man who escaped from Eastern State mental hospital.
Glenn Large, Jr., a 50-year-old Williamsburg man, escaped on the morning of July 5 after climbing over the fence that surrounds the perimeter of the hospital, VSP said.
Large has a lengthy history of legal run-ins, including a 1989 murder conviction in Virginia Beach. He was committed to Eastern State after being found not guilty by reason of insanity in 2022 for attempted malicious wounding, indecent exposure, and disorderly conduct charges.
