Montgomery County has seen two stabbing incidents within a 10-day span—one in Blacksburg and another in Shawsville. In both cases, the suspects have been young. Two people have been charged in Mathews following an elder abuse call. The cause of death for the Navy sailor Angelina Resendiz has been ruled undetermined, her family reported. In a statement, the family wrote “Given the condition of her body, we understand why this conclusion was reached by the medical examiner.” Resendiz, a 21-year-old based at Naval Station Norfolk, was found dead off base nearly two weeks after she went missing.
