18-year-old from Virginia Beach arrested for gun at Gloucester High School

Gloucester High School went into lockdown Tuesday, and two men were arrested in connection with the incident. According to a statement from Gloucester County Public Schools (GCPS), the lockdown was put in place around 11 a.m. in response to a report of a weapon outside in a construction area. In addition to the school resources officers, a larger presence from Gloucester County Sheriff’s officers arrived and had the scene secured within minutes, according to GCSO. Police and school officials said they discovered some of the construction workers outside the building had gotten into an altercation. A woman and dog were stabbed in Herndon, and the man accused of wielding the knife was shot. All three were receiving medical attention as of the last update provided by Herdon PD. her husbandOn Sunday, April 14, HPD officers responded to the 900 block of First Place shortly before noon after a woman called 911 to report her husband stabbed her. Zotos was heading south on Richmond Highway near Layhill Rd. when, at around 5:45 a.m., he reportedly saw a car that was leaking fluid. Since the car was disabled in one of the lanes of Richmond Rd., Zotos was concerned about the possibility of an accident and approached the driver, SCSO reported. ‘Right to Fish’ law makes it a crime to interfere with work of watermen in VA

Starting in July, in Virginia, it will be a crime to interfere with the work of commercial watermen or their equipment, including their boats. That new law comes from Delegate Hillary Kent’s “Right to Fish” bill, HB 1256, which Governor Youngkin signed on April 4th. It will be a Class 1 misdemeanor for any person who knowingly and intentionally interferes with or impedes the operation or commercial fishing activity. Convictions carries a potential sentence of up to 12 months in jail and a fine up to $2,500. For the first offense, a person found guilty loses the ability to have hunting and fishing licenses for 1 year. Additional convictions bar individuals from having those licenses for 3 years. Two people were hospitalized after a tractor-trailer crashed into a medical transport van in Essex, Virginia State Police announced. On Tuesday morning, a medical transport van, a 2012 Dodge, was stopped in the road on Rt. 360 about .2 of a mile west of Route 619 because a tree had fallen across both the eastbound and westbound lanes, according to VSP. A 2015 Freightliner tractor-trailer rear-ended the van, which had a passenger in route to McGuire Veterans Hospital. No bond was granted for the Knoxville, TN man charged amid a fatal DUI crash in Frederick County on Monday. Virginia State Police said they responded to the scene on I-81 at the 316 mile marker shortly before 11 p.m. Troopers found a 2018 Toyota Highlander reportedly driven by 54-year-old Kenneth Bireta was traveling north on I-81 when it ran off the left side of the road into the median. MS-13 gang members stabbed and killed K-9 Rivan while the dog was responding to an attack at Sussex I State Prison, VADOC announced. On Tuesday, April 2, three “verified members of MS-13” housed at Sussex I “viciously attacked another inmate,” while a fourth inmate appeared to be supervising the attack, VADOC stated.
