2 males in custody after Wythe County manhunt

Yesterday, residents in Wythe County were advised to lock their doors and alerted to a heavy police presence in the Barren Springs community amid an active manhunt on Gardner Road near Route 100. The cause of death for the Navy sailor Angelina Resendiz has been ruled undetermined, her family reported. In a statement, the family wrote “Given the condition of her body, we understand why this conclusion was reached by the medical examiner.” Resendiz, a 21-year-old based at Naval Station Norfolk, was found dead off base nearly two weeks after she went missing.
