2 ‘Caretakers’ Charged in Mathews Elder Abuse Case

Two people have been charged in Mathews following an elder abuse call. Virginia State Police have launched an investigation into a tractor-trailer crash in Isle of Wight County Monday night that knocked out power in the James River Bridge area and prompted a lengthy shutdown of the southbound lanes. Cause of death for Norfolk sailor Resendiz is undetermined

The cause of death for the Navy sailor Angelina Resendiz has been ruled undetermined, her family reported. In a statement, the family wrote “Given the condition of her body, we understand why this conclusion was reached by the medical examiner.” Resendiz, a 21-year-old based at Naval Station Norfolk, was found dead off base nearly two weeks after she went missing.
