Almost two years after 19-year-old Antione Fox was shot and left to die in the street, Fredericksburg Police announced the arrest of a suspect. Ahmad Haigler, a 26-year-old Spotsylvania man, was taken into custody on May 29. A 22-year-old woman from Augusta who was wanted for murder in Nelson County was arrested Monday afternoon during a coordinated SWAT operation in Harrisonburg. Katelynn Ann Hipes was taken into custody without incident after the Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD), working in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Task Force, executed a search warrant at a residence on Lee Avenue. Police seeking tips for fatal shooting of 19-year-old in Alexandria

Authorities are calling on the public for help as they pursue leads in the murder of a 19-year-old who was fatally shot Saturday night in Alexandria. The victim, identified as Deaundre Jack, was a resident of Alexandria. According to the Alexandria Police Department (APD), Jack was found in the parking lot of the Canterbury Square apartment complex suffering from multiple gunshot wounds around 10:15 p.m. on April 19. Responding officers began life-saving measures immediately upon arrival, but Jack succumbed to his injuries after Alexandria Fire Department medics took over care. On August 8, 2023, when Newport News Police responded to a shots fired call in the 400 block of Stallings Court, three men were found inside a residence dead. The victims were Alvin Eugene Holiday, 61, and Monroe McGilvary Jr., 60, both from Williamsburg, along with Derek Rico Jones, a 36-year-old from Newport News. Four teens have been charged for a Spotsylvania shooting that killed three people and sent three others to the hospital, including one of the suspects. Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office said information about the shooting came in around 5:30 p.m. yesterday (April 9). When officers arrived at the scene near Olde Greenwich Circle in a townhouse complex, they found multiple people shot. Three individuals were dead, including two 18-year-olds from Spotsylvania, Chase and Alonzo Goffney, along with a 20-year-old, whose name is being withheld pending confirmation from the Medical Examiner’s Office. Second degree murder has been added to the list of charges for the man and woman accused of killing 67-year-old Jose Medellin in James City County. On January 31, shortly after 2 p.m., JCCPD officers responded to Diascund Reservoir Road for a report of an assault in progress and reportedly found a woman outside the residence with visible injuries. Inside they found Medellin unresponsive. JCCPD said officers immediately began lifesaving measures until medical units arrived, but by 3 p.m., Medellin was pronounced dead. A fatal call Chandler was killed on November 13, 2021.
