Front Royal man facing murder for his 1-year-old

Nathaniel Lee Edmonds, a 24-year-old from Front Royal, is currently in RSW Regional Jail facing a 2nd degree murder charge for the death of his 1-year-old. The child died Wednesday, Sept. 18, according to Front Royal Police Dept. Officers were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of North Royal Avenue at approximately 2:40 p.m. for the report of a child in cardiac arrest, the Dept. stated. When police officers arrived, Warren County Fire & Rescue was already on the scene preparing to transport the baby to the hospital. 17-year-old charged with murder in Stafford

A 17-year-old is in custody after a fatal shooting on Hulls Chapel Rd., Stafford Sheriff’s Office confirmed. Just after 11 p.m. on Sept. 4, SCSO said the office received numerous calls about a shooting. Callers stated that a man was shot and the suspect was fleeing in a Mustang. According to SCSO, First Sergeant D.W. Fetterolf and Deputy M.N. Sayegh were first to turn onto Hulls Chapel Road, and they saw a Mustang fleeing the area. The officers stopped the car, detained the driver, a 17-year-old who reportedly had a gun in his possession. Scott Co. charges for couple accused of killing baby upgraded to murder

The child abuse and neglect charges against 24-year-old Michael Finley and 19-year-old Hannah Danielle Davidson have been upgraded to murder. As previously reported, the Fort Blackmore couple are accused in the death of Davidson’s 7-week-old baby who, according to Scott County Sheriff’s Office, was “critically injured.” A grand jury convened on Monday, and yesterday, August 7, new indictments were served on the pair charging each with a count of felony homicide and a count of 2nd degree murder. SCSO said the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke hasn’t confirmed the cause and manner of death because the autopsy report isn’t yet complete. Murder suspect named & charged for Richmond man found dead in Caroline

One suspect has been named for the murder of Reginald Terrance Holmes, a 51-year-old Richmond man found dead in the woods in Caroline. But this first suspect is not likely to be the last, according to Caroline County Sheriff Scott Moser. Holmes’ body was discovered by a citizen on May 26, and, at the time, CCSO announced that “significant” evidence was collected from the scene. In an update this week, CCSO said investigators took that evidence from the scene and immediately began tracking down leads. That investigation pointed them to 32-year-old Johnathan O’Bryan Ellis. On Wednesday, Michael Donivan White, a 36-year-old South Carolina man, pled guilty to eight federal charges linked to the murder of Michael Chandler, a Big Stone Gap Police Officer. Chandler was killed in the line of duty on November 13 at 2505 Orr Street. After a hunt lasting over a day, the triple-murder suspect Alyssa Jane Venable of Spotsylvania, VA was captured in New York. A search is underway for a 23-year-old woman accused of killing three people in Spotsylvania. On Tuesday, June 4, Spotsylvania deputies responded to the 10500 block of White Street Court around 10 p.m. for a welfare check. Inside the residence, they found three people dead, the Sheriff’s Office reported. The victims are 77-year-old Robert John McGuire, 60-year-old Gregory Scott Powell, and Carol Anne Reese, age 65. A 22-year-old Stafford man who was wanted for murder charges in Maryland was arrested yesterday in a joint operation between Stafford County Sheriff's Office and Prince George's County Police Department's Fugitive Unit. On Sunday, May 19, at around 1:45 a.m., PGPD said its officers responded to a shopping center parking lot in the 6400 block of Marlboro Pike where there was a car meet. Red Onion prisoner hit with murder charge for cell mate’s death

A grand jury in Wise County charged 36-year-old Julian Leon Mitchell with aggravated murder for the death of his cell mate. On August 23, 2023, corrections staff found Jowell Legendre unresponsive in his cell at Red Onion State Prison, VADOC stated. The staff performed life-saving measures and Legendre was transported to Dickenson Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Mitchell shared the cell with Jowell, and according to VADOC, he told security staff Legendre fell from the top bunk. After an investigation, VADOC presented the evidence to Wise County Commonwealth’s Attorney, and an indictment was filed last week, on May 15, VADOC reported.
