Days of lane closure amid another crash on bridge at Middlesex-Gloucester line

The bridge over Dragon Run at the Middlesex-Gloucester line is once again under emergency repair due to a crash early this morning involving a commercial tractor-trailer. According to Virginia State Police, the incident occurred on Route 17 near Tidewater Trail when a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia, driven by Calvin J. Virginia State Police have launched an investigation into a tractor-trailer crash in Isle of Wight County Monday night that knocked out power in the James River Bridge area and prompted a lengthy shutdown of the southbound lanes. Virginia State Police are looking for a truck reportedly involved in a hit-and-run crash on Norris Bridge between Lancaster and Middlesex. According to VSP, at around 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, a silver/gray truck towing a large white camper was heading westbound across the bridge toward Lancaster when it when it crossed the centerline and struck a van going in the opposite direction.
