Search for suspect underway after woman sexually assaulted in Alexandria

The Alexandria Police Department has detectives in the field today in the vicinity of an alleged sexual assault that occurred overnight. According to APD, a woman was walking in the area of Mount Vernon and Commonwealth Avenue after midnight. A stranger attacked her, assaulted her, and, as of this morning, she was still being treated at local hospital, police say. Detectives are slated to spend today canvassing the area and talking to members of the community. Man facing fentanyl terrorism charge after Fredericksburg raid

Another incident has led to more charges for 24-year-old Jaquan Mincy of Fredericksburg. On Tuesday, at about 6:30 in the morning, the Fredericksburg Police Department’s Special Equipment Tactical Team executed a search warrant on an apartment in the 600 block of Greenbrier Court. FPD said action was taken with the expectation of finding illegal drugs. Inside, FPD said authorities reportedly found over 800 pressed fentanyl pills, approximately 300 grams of marijuana, over $10,000 in cash, and drug paraphernalia. 40-year-old Woodbridge twins alleged shoplifting attempt leads to drug charge

A set of 40-year-old twins from Woodbridge was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly committing a brazen act of shoplifting. According to Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, deputy R.L. Hubbard and deputy S.A. Hensley were dispatched to the Walmart at 11 Village Parkway around 5:30 p.m. for a report of two males who were allegedly walking out of the store with unpaid merchandise. Last August, 33-year-old James Arthur Scott sat in a rental car in a parking lot in Hampton and waited for over an hour and a half for a UPS package from California, court documents and evidence from his trial revealed. That parcel, which was addressed to “Lit Wick” contained several layers of packaging and had two shoeboxes filled with wax. Inside the wax, there was a kilo of cocaine in each box. Two Purcellville residents are accused of burglarizing businesses in Loudoun County.
