Suspect in custody after shooting at racetrack in Colonial Beach

A 47-year-old Colonial Beach man who was briefly wanted for the weekend shooting at Custom T’s Motorsports Park is now in custody and being held without bond. Dwayne Newman, of Colonial Beach, has been charged for shooting Eric Fauntleroy on Saturday, July 12, during an event called Nanu’s Bikefest. Leesburg Police are searching for a man who reportedly assaulted a woman on the Washington & Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail Thursday afternoon. The victim was out running and was on the trail near Rhonda Place SE when she passed an unknown man. When she came back past that area, the man threw a rock and hit her in the back of the head, police say.
